Stryker has been having trouble remembering not to interrupt. So we taught him to put a finger on us if we are talking, to let us know that he wants to say something. He did a good job of it at home, putting his finger on my arm if Keith and I were talking. On [...]

Peytra seems to grow up a little more each day. She is liking her rice cereal now. We also gave her some applesauce yesterday. She learned to drink from a sippy cup, too, and she kept reaching for Stryker’s cup during church yesterday.
Also, she got her first tooth! It’s the lower left one, and it cut [...]
Yesterday, we went to McFarland to visit Keith’s dad, stepmom, and sister. We had a nice time at the zoo in Madison, and we’re not talking about the traffic, which was also a zoo. There was a home Badger game that morning, plus some construction, so that made getting there pretty crazy.
We like to have [...]
This week was Water week, and we did lots of neat stuff. We put food coloring in a vase with water to turn a white carnation green. We tested things like a block of wood, a metal spoon, a lemon, etc to see what would float. Stryker played with water and bubbles outside in a big Rubbermaid [...]
On Wednesday, we met our friends the Hagenows at Possibility Playground in Port Washington. My friend Amy had convinced me to go, even though I was reluctant to veer from our regularly scheduled program of naps and nearby parks. This one is a half an hour away, and Peytra had to take her nap in [...]
Yesterday, we went apple picking. There was an ad in our free weekend paper that said FREE APPLES, so I called about it. This was perfect, since I had been wanting to pick apples, but all the apple orchards “near” here are at least a half-hour away and more expensive than buying the apples in [...]
Yesterday, Peytra turned 5 months old. She wore this pretty flowered dress to church. It is a gift from Grandma Hagy. On Saturday night, Keith gave her solid food for the first time – rice cereal. She was happy but didn’t seem too interested. She just sort of let it sit in her mouth, and then [...]
On Thursday afternoon, Defense had probably one of the best times of her life. When Keith got home from school, we went for a hike at Ridge Run County Park. Peytra rode in a front-pack baby carrier, and Stryker walked, ran, hopped, and stumbled along. Since the city of West Bend doesn’t allow dogs in [...]
Stryker is very concerned with the health and safety of everyone. As I mentioned several months ago on this blog, he got started on his health kick with the Berenstain Bears and Too Much Junk Food. The other night, as we had Baked Lays for supper, he said, “Are these chips healthy?”
A different day, we [...]
