Stryker loves trucks and tools and construction in general.  A few weeks ago, he was using his noisy toy jackhammer (a gift from his Uncle Jonathon), and he said to me, “That sounds like music!”  Then at Chris and Christina’s last weekend, he was whacking a stick against a tree, when he said, “I’m makin’ [...]

I am currently reading a good book called Wild Things: The Art of Nurturing Boys, by Stephen James and David Thomas.  It isn’t marketed as a Christian book, but one of the authors has served as a pastor, and they make references to God and Jesus.  I have found it to be helpful in reminding [...]

This past weekend, we traveled to Minnesota to visit a lot of Kay’s family.  We were treated to a bunch of good meals and visits at Kay’s parents’, brother Chris’s, aunt Mary’s, and aunt Debby’s houses.  Peytra and Stryker got to meet their second cousin, Bennett, who is 6 months old, and hang out with their cousin [...]

As I mentioned a couple of days ago, my sister-in-law, Christy, was admitted to the hospital, and we were praying that her baby would not be born yet, as she was only 27 weeks pregnant.  However, Jaxson did arrive via c-section on Saturday, July 25 at 9:59am at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, but [...]

On Wednesday night, we went to Keith’s softball game.  We made sure to bring our sunglasses because one set of bleachers is facing the setting sun.  Stryker is wearing the pair he got at VBS, and Peytra is wearing hers from Keith’s soccer team.  They are still a little big for her head, but she [...]

I have a prayer request for everyone to include with their prayers.  My sister-in-law, Christy Hagy, is pregnant with her first baby, a boy, and she is running into all kinds of problems.  The most recent and biggest is that she had too much amniotic fluid, which was causing pressure on her cervix.  Her doctor [...]

Keith’s newest project is the patio.  He found these patio stones for only $75 per pallet (we got 4 pallets), and he is doing all the work himself.  The only other additional cost is all the traffic bond and sand that he’s had to go get to level out the area under the stones.
It’s been [...]

We had our friends, Mark and Tiffany Stram and their kids Cal and Cate, over for supper last night.  While Keith and Mark discussed their mutual love of movies, especially Star Wars and anything bloody, and Tiffany and I debated which is cheaper:  Target or Walmart, Peytra seemed to have made her first friend.  When they [...]

Today Peytra is 3 months old!  Here she is in the dress she wore to church yesterday.  She got it for Christmas from the Taylors.  It’s a lot like her rededication dress, except that it has sleeves, a collar, and it’s pink instead of white.  She also wore shoes for the first time yesterday.  They [...]

On Friday, we went up to the Fond du Lac County Fair.  Keith’s uncle Jeff and his aunt Deanna, and their kids Ryan, Dustin, Megan, Kristin, and Kaitlynn travel around every summer with their food stands and sell chicken and steak pitas, as well as lemonade, fries, funnel cake, and other desserts.  They live in [...]
