My sister Gina gave me this Hotsling as a gift before Peytra was born. It’s just one piece of fabric, literally like a sling. It works best for doing things around the house when I need some extra hands.
The title of this post is “hot” not only because of the Hotsling, but also because it was 95 degrees or so here yesterday. It was the first day we tried to turn on our AC. I say “tried,” because it didn’t work. Sleeping last night, or trying to sleep, was not fun. I felt bad for the kids, but they did fine. We had a repairman here today, and they had to give us a whole new unit. We now have working AC. Thank goodness our whole house is under warranty for a year!
Also, Defense was probably the hottest of all of us with all her fur. We got her back this past weekend when we picked her up at my parents’ house in Winona. She seems to remember us, but then she is friendly with everyone. As she gets older, she is developing pain in her hips, so it is hard for her to go up the stairs after she has been laying down for awhile. But she loves to be around people, so if we go upstairs, she does, too. If it gets real bad, we’ll just carry her upstairs to sleep by us at night.
Here is the best picture I could get of Defense and one of the kids. Stryker doesn’t really hold still for pictures. Peytra does, but Defense doesn’t think she should be that close to Peytra, so Defense is the one that runs away.
