Yesterday, Stryker and I went strawberry picking at the Fideler Farm in Kewaskum. This is the third year that the two of us have gone together, and the previous two years, Stryker really enjoyed it and came home with a juicy red face. This time, however, he was excited to go to the farm, but only to see the tractor. He also had hopes of seeing cows and horses, even though I told him that the strawberry farm didn’t have any. He was actually pretty good while “we” (I) were picking. He only asked to go home about seven or eight times. It was pretty hot, though, even though we were there at 8am. It was probably at least 85 degrees. The highlight for him was riding on the wagon behind the tractor to get out to the field. We actually rode again before we left, just for fun. We got about 5 pounds of strawberries for $7. It was $1.35/pound.

Gotta love it!

June 30th, 2009 at 8:53 pmWell, I cut and froze half of them, and the other half we ate within 3 days. Some we had plain, and the rest we had in fruit salad. Fortunately, we had Amy and Evan Johnson over for supper and also Todd, Amy, Landon, and Blake Hagenow during that time to help us eat them.
